A night of stars

Ok I'm so excited about this post. Most of you know that I love so you think you can dance or any dancing show out there. Last night my friend Amy and I decided to go see Mark Ballas and Derek Hough (from dancing with the stars) perform with their band. They have had a band for awhile, but have now been signed to Hollywood Records. This was a total last minute decision. We went to the concert and they had Alex Boye, David Osmond, and a girl named Jocelyn perform. Alex Boye was crazy. Here are some pictures I got of him and also of him singing apologize by One Republic. The one republic song was my favorite part.

Then David Osmond came out and sang some songs and he was pretty good. He is way cute by the way.

After the 2 opening acts they had some dancer from Dancing with the stars come out. They were amazing for how old they were. They looked like they were about 15 or 16. I was really impressed and loved the dance they danced to.

Then came The Ballas Hough Band. I really didn't know what kind of music they would be playing, but it turned out great. The only problem was that they didn't perform until almost 11 and we were both getting so tired. Here is us trying to get some energy into us before the band came out. Then when the band came out the energy came out of no where and we had a blast. I was surprised at how well they did and that I can't wait till their cd comes out. I would totally buy it. After the performance they said they would hang out for a little bit. As I was looking around I spotted a couple people from so you think you can dance. There was Jaymes and Lacey Schwimmer from season 2 and Thayne from Season 4. I was in heaven. I have wanted to meet someone from So you think you can dance FOREVER. All of a sudden I look over and Derek Hough is coming out to meet people. They led him to the foyer area of the place and I couldn't get to him. Then I heard a girl say it's Lance Bass. I totally freaked out and followed the 14 year old girls to get a picture with him. He was so nice and let me get a picture with him. Then Lacey Schwimmer came out and I had to get a picture with her. And Jaymes came out had to get a picture with him. So I don't bore you I was able to get a picture with Derek and Mark too. Here are the pictures to prove it. It was such a CRAZY night. We got all our pictures in about 5 minutes. All these stars kept coming out. It was so much fun. I felt like a little kid again. So star strucked.

Norwegian Christmas Dinner

I just love Christmas time. I love being with my family and friends. There are so many things you can do at this time of year. Every year my family still carries on the tradition of our mom's Norwegian dinner. We have the pork roast, Korv sausage, potatoes, glazed carrots, rolls, and of course pretzel salad added to the list. We did it last Saturday because my dad and sandy were going to be out of town for Christmas. It was so nice to get together and celebrate Christmas as a family. Here are some pictures of the night.

The beautiful table setting.

Friend Gift Exchange

My friend Amy and I got together last night to do our Christmas gift exchange. We are some crazy wildcats. We know exactly what to get each other. We usually get each other some funny gifts and something nice. This year I think Amy covered all the things I love. Here is a picture of what she gave me.
She got me a poster of Tom Welling, HSM game, Girls just wanna have fun DVD, and of course HSM candy canes. She was lucky I hadn't found them first. lol
Last of all she created this picture for me of all the fun little crushes I have. I wish I could be as creative as her. I loved all the gifts.

Here is Amy with her presents. I got her a pirates of the carribean night light, Gilmore girls season 3, David Cook cd, and of course a HSM poster.

Parties

Tis the season of parties. Here are a couple of fun Christmas parties I've been to. First off I had a get together with my missionary sisters. It was so nice to see everyone. Usually when we get together we only get about 5 people because everyone gets so busy. This year we had 8 sisters and 3 little babies. We had such a good time. It was nice to catch up with everyone. I have been so lucky to stay in contact with these sisters from my mission. They are always there when you need them and truly care about you. Thanks sisters for a fun night. See you at the next get together.

The sisters: Nicole, Julie, Dutson, Holly, Jazzy, Donna, Hackett, and me

Next party was a get together with my childhood friends. They are pretty much my family. We had a wonderful dinner of taco salad and brownies. Also we watched a great lifetime Christmas Movie. It was fun to laugh and share old stories together. Here's the whole group. Sorry Trisha and Chris I took pictures before you came, but you are not forgotten.Kyle and Laura. This is the only place Hudson wanted to sit. Laura was also feeding him ice. Hudson's favorite. He takes after his grandma Grethe.

Brett and I

This week has been full of fun free movies. The first one was Marley and Me. I went with my sisters, nieces, Molly, and Marci. We had a really good time. I thought this movie was really good. It had a good meaning to it. Also I'm not even a dog lover, but I loved this movie. They picked good actors to play the lead roles. Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson did a great job.

The second movie was Bedtime Stories with Adam Sandler. I loved this movie. I laughed the whole time. It's also a great kids movie. My sisters, nieces, and I went. Since Disney did the movie they had the radio disney dancers. We got to dance and sing with them. Of course I'm a HSM fan so I had to join in. We danced for prizes. Thanks sisters, Brittany, and Amber for a fun time.

The G's and Music

I'm addicted to Gossip Girl and Gilmore Girls. I have been a fan of Gossip Girl since the end of the first season. I went to a party where they were watching the season 1 finale. I had a friend fill me in on what happened throughout the first season before I watched the finale. After watching the finale I was hooked. I wanted to watch the season from the beginning. Luckily CW plays reruns all summer. So I was able to watch all of season one. Now I was all caught up for season 2. The point of this blog is that I have noticed that CW has great songs on shows. For example this song was on Gossip Girl on Monday night and I loved it. It's a nice slow song, but something that I have never heard before. I really liked it.

I also really liked this song by Lady Gaga. I was lucky enough to go to her concert in November and she sang it. Sorry I had to add Edward Cullen into the post. So here is lady gaga performing "Paparazzi." and someone put photos of Robert Pattinson. BTW in the song I mostly just like the chorus. Enjoy!

On to Gilmore Girls. When I went to Vegas I was with friends who loved Gilmore girls. I never really got into the show when it first came out. Anyway my friends were talking about it and who ended up with who. I thought this would be a good series to start watching. Luckily walmart has a sale of them for only $15. You can't beat that for a season show. I ended up buying 3 seasons and asking for the rest for Christmas. In only 2 weeks I have watched the first season and part of the second. I really like this show. I love the relationship that the mother has with her daughter. They are so close. I also love how they live in a small town. I have always wanted to live in a small town, but still close to city life. I got to experience small town life in Florida. I loved how everyone knew who you were. If you ever needed something people were nice enough to help you. Granted there are problems with living in a small town. Everyone knows your business, but overall it would be a good experience I would like to tryout.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was great this year. I went over to Kristine's for dinner. Kristine did the dinner all by herself and it was wonderful. She made the best yams/sweet potatoes, can't remember which ones they were, they all taste the same to me. We had fabulous homemade rolls. Everything was perfect. Thanks Kris for having me. Here is some pictures of the nieces and nephews at Thanksgiving. Then the next morning Kris, Lisa, Karlee, and I went out for black friday. We got some great deals. Our first stop at 5 am was walmart. That place is insane. Karlee and I were incharge of getting dvds. When it was time to grab the dvds we grab about 20 each. Everyone was pushing. Oh the joys of sales. The dvds are the best part. They are so cheap. I got a couple of dvds for only $2. After walmart it was off to bath and body and old navy. It was so much fun to do this with my sisters and my niece Karlee. They are the best. After a busy morning of shopping we headed to Burger King. We enjoyed some great laughs at breakfast. Thanks for a fun morning sistas. Here are some pictures of the morning.

Where to begin. Let's start with Ellen/Twilight!

Sorry I have been out of the blogging world for awhile. I have had an interesting passed couple of weeks. School has been crazy with papers, projects, and finals coming up. I haven't had time for anything. Tonight I have ADD and can't focus on studying for a final. I thought I would take a little break and update everyone on what has been going on. I think the first thing to talk about is Ellen/TWILIGHT!

I got tickets to go see Ellen Degeneres in Vegas. I was in need of a vacation. I took 2 of my mission friends. I went with Amy who lives here and Jazzy that lives in St. George. We decided to pick Jazzy up on the way down to Vegas. We stayed in the lovely Super 8 (thanks to sandy for getting us discounts). It isn't the nicest hotel by the Vegas strip, but $25 a night you can't beat that. Here is the sign outside the hotel. It's so nice. It really makes you feel that you are on the Vegas strip. lol

We also had great food while in Vegas. The Jack in the box and in and out.
Then on Nov. 21st we got to go to Caesar's Palace to watch the taping of The Ellen Show. It was so great. The guest were Bette Midler, Hans Klok (illusionist, he was kind of lame), and PINK. My favorite part of the show was Pink. I was impressed on how great she sounded live and a really good entertainer. It was sad we didn't win anything and we weren't on the t.v., but hey we had a blast. We had our own little dance party going on in the back of the auditorium.

In Vegas my friends and I were able to meet up with Michelle, who is also from our mission. She lives in Vegas and took us to a really great place to eat. It was great to go to Michelle's house and just hang out. This was probably the most relaxing trip I have had in Vegas. We hardly were on the strip. It was also nice to see Michelle. We hardly ever see her.

This is the yummy dessert we all shared at BJ's restaurant that Michelle took us to. It's a yummy hot choc. chip cookie with vanilla ice creamed served on top. I very much enjoyed the dessert that night. And finally I played the slot machines. I usually end up losing, but only put in a dollar or two. At Caesars Palace I put in a $1 and all of the sudden the machine just went crazy. I ended up winning $27. That was so nice.

Now it's time for Twilight,We went to a the saturday showing of Twilight. I was surprised that the theater was not full. We only had about 20 people. The good thing was that we didn't have all the teenagers screaming like little girls (it was just me....lol). Here is me right before the show.Let's just say I was really excited. My friends were making fun of me, but it was all just for fun. To be funny one of them asked me to just breathe Linzi. So I hurried and told them Edward doesn't need to breathe and neither do I. Good times at the movies.

Now the REVIEW of Twilight........I actually really liked the movie. I thought they did a great job with the characters. The only character I didn't really like was Jasper. He looked kind of freaky and reminded me a lot of Edward Scissorhands. The movie fit the story perfectly. I understand they had to take some parts out or combined other parts to make the movie under 2 hours. The only thing I was sad about was the medow scene. I thought they could of done something different or made that part longer. In the book there was so much detail in that section for me. I would have liked to see more. There were also times I did have to laugh. If you have seen it you probably laughed to at the part of Edward first seeing Bella in bioglogy. Loved it!! Overall I would have to give this movie a A. Also I have been good and only seen it twice, but if anyone hasn't seen it/wants to see it again I would love to go with you. :)
